radio controlled aircraft instruction

title

It's easier than ever before to get started In years past the sport of flying radio controlled aircraft mostly resided within the realm of the dedicated hobbyist. It involved long hours in construction and then many hours of trial and error in learning to fly. This was a challenge accepted by a patient few but for many the difficulty and steep learning curve was just too much.

These days the story is very different. Technology and information have transformed the landscape of building and operating all types of vehicles, from radio controlled cars tanks and motorcycles to tiny electric helicopters to large turbine powered jet planes. Radio technology has advanced and incorporated programmable settings so one transmitter can have custom settings for several planes or helicopters. Depending on how interested you are in the construction side you can choose from kits that you build up entirely or you can choose planes and helicopters that are already completely built and ready to fly with only minor assembly and setup.

What was once a somewhat precarious process of learning to fly has now been made as painless as possible with the use of very sophisticated flight simulators to get down the basics. Then to go to the next level the new generation of radio transmitters equipped with a 'buddy box' link system enable a beginner pilot to fly under the supervision of an instructor who can take over control of the aircraft at any time if needed with the flick of a switch.

With all this new technology comes a daunting array of choices and this is where the guidance of experienced pilots and builders can be invaluable. Our goal at Kent Flight School is not only to promote the hobby and sport of radio controlled flying and make people aware of what modern technology makes possible but also to provide the guidance needed for new pilots to make the right choices and get results fast.
